Salesforce’s Summer ’25 release is packed with innovation. Whether you’re an admin, architect, consultant, developer, or end user, there’s something here for you. This release brings enhancements across the board – from improved user experiences to tools that help teams build more, faster.

In this post, I’ll walk you through some of the most impactful updates and what to look out for in Summer ’25. Let’s dive in!

🤖 Agentforce and Einstein

AI and automation continue to be a major focus for Salesforce in Summer ’25. From improved scheduling in Field Service, to Prompt Builder’s new support for External Objects and enhancements in Omni-Channel, here are some of the most exciting items to watch out for:

💡 Note: Many of these features require specific licenses or editions – check the release notes for details.

These features show how far Agentforce and Einstein are evolving, bringing together automation, intelligence and flexibility across the Salesforce platform. Anything catch your attention? As always, check your licensing to see what is available and test in a sandbox.

📊 Analytics

Reports and Dashboards

Two previous Beta features from Spring ’25 are now Generally Available:

In addition:

CRM Analytics

CRM Analytics (CRMA) sees a broad set of updates in Summer ’25, spanning customisation, visualisation and data integration. Highlights include:

Data Integration Enhancements

There have also been several noteworthy enhancements for data integration including:

Tableau Next

  • Introducing Tableau Next. Tableau Next is Salesforce’s API-first analytics platform, combining Tableau, Agentforce’s context-aware AI and Data Cloud’s semantic layer. It offers a modular analytics experience, delivering trusted insights into the flow of work. Expect more updates in the coming months.

💰 Sales

Summer ’25 brings key Agentforce and Einstein updates, especially for SDR, including multi-language support, batch testing and easier agent performance monitoring (e.g., leads assigned, emails sent/received, etc).

Other highlights include:

✨ Salesforce Flow

Summer ’25 delivers further powerful updates for Salesforce Flow. Here are some of the key highlights:

Flow Builder

Screen Flow

A key update from Spring ’25 – automatically triggered screen actions, is now generally available. You can now control when an action is invoked (e.g. on-screen load or based on conditions), helping to improve performance and user experience.

Other features of note:

Flow Debugging and Testing

  • Test Flows for Error Handling. Use the new ‘Has Error’ operator to test negative assertions (i.e. the unhappy path) – ideal for validating how Record and Data Cloud Triggered Flows behave during failures.
  • User Experience Improvements for Debug. Simplify debugging in Flow with the updated debug panel. The new card-based view makes it easier to skim over each element. You can search and resize the panel, as well as copy the full log with a single click.
  • Test Flows Faster with Integrated Tests. Use the Salesforce CLI to run Flow tests directly. This makes it easier to incorporate unit and regression tests into your CI/CD processes.

Flow Approvals

Flow approvals, introduced in Spring ’25, continue to gain momentum in Summer ’25 with new features and refinements.

With support for Workflow Rules and Process Builder ending on the 31st of December, it seems highly likely that Flow Approvals will supersede Approval Processes. Whilst there is no official date for this yet, I wouldn’t be surprised if we hear more soon.

  • 💡- It may be a good time to begin exploring Flow Approvals if you have existing Approval Processes, or you are planning to build some soon.

For me, the key update is:

  • Create a Flow Approval Process from the Approvals App. Build an autolaunced Flow Approval process directly from the Approvals app. Use a guided wizard to generate a draft with up to three levels of approval, including final actions and recall paths. You can also start from scratch.

In addition, this release introduces the ability to invoke Flow Approval Processes from Flow and either recall or cancel the request.

And More!

One of the hardest parts of reviewing the Flow release notes is deciding what not to include – in recent releases, there’s been so many features to choose from! Here are a few bonus features worth checking out:

🛠 Release Updates: Enforced, Auto-Enabled, and What You Need to Test

Each Salesforce release includes Release Updates – behind-the-scenes changes that aim to improve performance, security and reliability. Some are enforced (you can’t turn them off) and others are auto-enabled (can be turned off, for now).

Why it Matters?

Release updates can break some of your existing configurations if not tested in advance. For example, the SAML Framework update in Summer ’25 could impact your existing Single Sign-On (SSO) processes.

Here’s a snapshot of what’s coming up:

❌ Cancelled Updates (No Action Required)

⌛ Updates with no set Enforcement Date

Ahead of Summer ’25, refer to ‘Release updates’ in Setup or the release notes for more information. Always bear in mind that the timelines of these items can change.

👋 Feature Retirements

It’s equally important to stay informed about upcoming feature retirements to ensure you have time to prepare and minimise any risk of disruption. The table below highlights some key retirements to prepare for. For additional details, refer to the Salesforce Retirement Roadmap

Bonus Penguin Fact 🐧

The Knitting Nannas of Hazelgrove Court Care Home in Saltburn, Teeside (UK) have made headlines this week for their charitable efforts. They have been supporting the Penguin Foundation in Australia by knitting jumpers for Little penguins (Eudyptula minor).

While they may look like fashion statements, these jumpers serve as a key life-saving device. In the event of an oil spill, the jumpers can be put on the penguins until their feathers are cleaned. This prevents penguins from ingesting toxic oil as they instinctively try to clean their feathers. Though I hope they’ll never need to be used, the jumpers provide a flipper-friendly safety net for the colony of 40,000 penguins on Phillip Island, near Melbourne.
